Joe is retired but still a member in good standing of OCT and CPCO.
He has taught all grades from 8 - 12 and all levels, remedial, occupation (both of which became basic level), general and advanced courses (now applied and academic).
Joe has worked, before retirement, for 32 years starting with the Sudbury Public Board as Teacher, Assistant Head, and Acting Department Head before moving down to Aurora Ontario where he took a job with the York Region Roman Catholic District School Board as Dean of Communications during which time he was responsible for English, Business and Modern Languages (French and Italian).
This position later evolved into a straight Department Head of English. Joe spent the years from 1987-98 with the Durham Catholic District School Board as an administrator, Principal and Vice-Principal.
Since his retirement, he has been a supply Vice-Principal, and a teacher-mentor for high school teachers in two schools in the DCDSB.
In addition, he has continued to teach the Fred Jones "Tools for Teaching" course to teachers in our Durham Catholic and with a group of UOIT student teachers.
Joe is currently a faculty advisor for the Faculty of Education.
