D'Arcy is a retired Elementary Principal from the TDSB.
Over his 35 year career, D'Arcy taught both secondary and elementary.
In secondary, he taught English and was a guidance counsellor. In elementary, which comprised the bulk of his career, D'Arcy taught Primary, Junior and Intermediate, as well as being a guidance counsellor.
D'Arcy holds Specialist Certificates in Reading, Special Education and Guidance.
His curriculum interests include literacy, assessment and evaluation, and differentiated instruction. He is also interested in weaving social development throughout the curriculum.
D'Arcy gives workshops on interview skills and resume/cover letter writing. He also works with individuals on job search techniques.
Tennis, skiing, skating, gardening and reading occupy much of his time.
About his position as a Faculty Advisor, D'Arcy says, "What a fantastic experience being able to mentor our future teachers".
